In a few days I will be part of a delegation going to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala with Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Jody Williams and Rigoberta Menchu Tum. We will meet women human rights defenders and learn about, and promote, their work for peace.

Sarah Harmer is coming to The Studio Theatre in Perth May 13, 2011 for an intimate solo show. Having spent the past year touring in support of her
Juno nominated album oh little fire, Sarah is once again playing this special show in Perth to raise funds for the Brooke Valley School.

In the years after touring her last studio release, the Polaris Prize-nominated I’m a Mountain, Sarah set music aside to focus on
environmental campaigns, helping to shepherd PERL (Protecting Escarpment Rural Land). This volunteer organization was founded to stop LaFarge from
opening a massive quarry on top of the Niagara Escarpment’s Mount Nemo in Burlington, ON. PERL is currently in the midst of a Joint Board hearing
alongside government agencies, which are also opposing the proposal.

In the past few years Sarah has recorded with artists such as Neko Case, Howie Beck, and Great Lake Swimmers. For this special Perth show she is
excited to have Juno nominated musician Joey Wright opening the show and join her for a few songs..

Tickets for this show are 25$ and available at Riverguild Fine Crafts, 51 Gore St E, Perth, On •613-267-5237

Brooke Valley School is an alternative rural private school in operation for over 30 years. Offering local families an opportunity to have their
children go to an art based -small school with 12 students and 1 teacher this year, grades 1-8. No public funding means the school has to charge
tuition and fundraise for its operational budget. Benefits like this help keep the school accessible to the local members of the community.

Thanks Juno nominators! Especially psyched to be alongside Gavin Brown in best producer category w Daniel Lanois and Neil Young. Holy!

Oh Little Fire has been nominated for:

- ADULT ALTERNATIVE ALBUM OF THE YEAR
- JACK RICHARDSON PRODUCER OF THE YEAR (Sarah Harmer & Gavin Brown)
- RECORDING ENGINEER OF THE YEAR (Lenny De Rose for “Captive” , “Late Bloomer”)

Check out the full list of Juno nominees here
